Research Associate - Computational Biologist (all genders)
Join our dynamic Computational Biology Team at Evotec in Göttingen and contribute to the analysis of large-scale omics data with a strong focus on target discovery and clinical applications across multiple disease areas. You’ll work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, engaging with internal teams and external partners to drive innovation in drug discovery and development.
Research Associate - Computational Biologist (all genders)
Full-time | Permanent
Your Key Responsibilities:
Conduct exploratory analyses of multidimensional clinical datasets, with a focus on transcriptomics and high-resolution omics data.
Generate hypotheses and prioritize target candidates across various disease indications.
Perform data-driven patient stratification from large, heterogeneous cohorts.
Collaborate at the interface of dry and wet lab teams to support the development of novel methods for analysing patient-derived multi-omics data.
Analyse, interpret, and visualize complex datasets in close collaboration with computational scientists, bioinformaticians, and biologists.
Present findings clearly and effectively to internal project teams and external stakeholders.
Your Profile:
PhD or Master’s degree (with several years of relevant experience post-graduation) in life sciences, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
Solid understanding of transcriptomics, single-cell or spatial sequencing; familiarity with proteomics, metabolomics, or genetics is a plus.
Strong biological knowledge in one or more disease areas.
Proficiency in R and/or Python for high-dimensional omics data analysis.
Experience with machine learning or AI-based tools is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with ontologies, databases, or knowledge graphs is beneficial.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
Fluency in English is required.
