Staff Accountant | Seattle, WA

Just-Evotec Biologics is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant with SAP experience to join our dynamic accounting team.  Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing fixed asset accounting processes, ensuring accuracy in asset tracking,  optimizing the use of SAP systems for fixed asset management, journal entries, account reconciliations and various research items.

Note: Based in Seattle, WA site, some home working available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fixed Asset Management: Oversee the complete lifecycle of fixed assets, including acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, impairment testing, and disposals.
• Asset Reporting: Prepare and maintain schedules, reports, and analyses related to fixed assets. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Capital Expenditure: Collaborate with various departments to review and analyze capital expenditure requests, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and company goals.
• Depreciation and Amortization: Calculate and record monthly depreciation and amortization expenses accurately.
• Reconciliation: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of fixed asset and other accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of fixed asset policies and procedures.
• Audit Support: Assist with both internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations related to fixed asset accounting.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in fixed asset management and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Review operating and capex purchase order coding for proposed purchase orders
• Support in the review and analysis of monthly financials to ensure costs are properly recorded

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
• Proven experience overseeing fixed asset management, preferably with experience in a biopharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency in fixed asset management systems.  Experience with SAP systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Experience with IFRS a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other financial software tools
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $63,000 to $86,520; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience, and competitive market value. Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision and 401k company match, flexible paid time off and paid holiday, wellness, and transportation benefits.
