Position Summary
The Cleaning Supervisor (Swing Shift) is responsible for oversight, coordination, and compliance of cleaning and sanitization activities within GMP Manufacturing Classified and Controlled Non-Classified (CNC) Gowning/Locker Room areas at the J.POD® facility (Redmond, WA). This role ensures cleaning operations are executed in accordance with approved procedures, regulatory expectations, and internal quality standards to maintain the facility in a state of control for GMP operations.

The supervisor, report to the Manufacturing Manager, provides direct leadership to cleaning staff and contractors during the evening shift, ensuring proper documentation, adherence to safety requirements, and consistent execution of cleaning processes.

What You’ll Do:

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise and coordinate evening shift cleaning activities across GMP classified areas.

  • Ensure cleaning and disinfecting activities are performed per approved SOPs and defined frequencies.

  • Verify use of approved disinfectants, proper preparation of solutions, and adherence to required contact times.

  • Ensure appropriate segregation and use of dedicated cleaning equipment by area.

  • Ensure accurate, complete, and contemporaneous completion of cleaning logs and Cleaning Solution Preparation logs.

  • Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and GMP compliance prior to shift close.

  • Escalate documentation errors, deviations, or non-compliance in a timely manner.

Quality & GMP Control

  • Maintain facility cleanliness standards required for GMP manufacturing environments.

  • Ensure cleaning activities support contamination control strategy and inspection readiness.

  • Enforce proper handling, labeling, and expiration tracking of cleaning solutions

  • Ensure adherence to area-specific requirements, including dedicated equipment and segregation practices.

Safety Oversight

  • Ensure all personnel follow PPE requirements, including gowning procedures and use of safety equipment.

  • Reinforce safe handling of cleaning agents in accordance with SDS guidance.

  • Promote safe work practices when operating around live equipment, high temperatures, or pressurized systems.

  • Support spill response readiness per procedure.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Provide direction, coaching, and oversight to cleaning staff and contractors.

  • Ensure personnel are trained and qualified on applicable SOPs and safety requirements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for evening shift cleaning operations.

  • Provide supervisory oversight of cleaning operations across a 7-day work week.

  • Adjust work schedule as needed to ensure appropriate supervision of weekend cleaning crews.

  • Ensure continuity of standards, communication, and compliance across all shifts and days of operation.

  • Drive accountability and reinforce a culture of quality, compliance, and ownership.

Who You Are:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 3 years plus of experience in GMP cleaning, facilities, or manufacturing support.

  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of GMP requirements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 211 expectations for facility cleanliness and control).

  • Understanding of cleaning validation concepts, disinfectant use, and contamination control principles.

  • Familiarity with controlled documentation practices (e.g., ALCOA+ principles).

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

  • Ability to identify and escalate compliance risks.

  • Effective communication and team leadership skills.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Working Conditions

  • Evening shift support in GMP manufacturing environment.

  • Flexibility required to support weekend and off-shift operations.

  • Required use of appropriate gowning and PPE.

  • Work performed in classified clean-room and controlled areas.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $81,000 to $109,250; this is a salary exempt role. Base salary offered may vary depending on the individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value. Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision, short-term and long-term disability, company paid basic life insurance, 401k company match, generous paid time off and paid holiday, wellness and transportation benefits.
