The Role:

The Vice President, IT & Digitalization is accountable for the end-to-end execution of IT capabilities supporting Just-Evotec Biologics GMP-regulated biotherapeutics operations. The role owns both IT strategy and hands-on implementation across Process and Product Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain, operating within Evotec’s evolving global IT Target Operating Model (TOM).

The role is accountable for delivering JEB-specific IT and digital solutions, ensuring that all local systems and capabilities are designed, implemented, validated, and operated in alignment with global architectural, cybersecurity, data, and service management standards. Local solutions must- where possible - integrate into Evotec’s global IT landscape and must not evolve as standalone, fragmented, or disconnected platforms.

The role ensures secure, reliable, compliant, and validated IT systems, while actively driving digitalization, automation, and data-driven optimization across the end-to-end biotherapeutics value chain. A core responsibility is the practical integration of JEB-specific IT and OT capabilities into Evotec’s global IT & Data organization, balancing enterprise-wide standards with the operational realities and pace of a GMP manufacturing environment.

This is a working leadership role, requiring direct involvement in architectural decisions, system design, vendor selection and delivery, validation strategy, and complex issue resolution. The role is not limited to oversight or governance, but includes active execution and problem-solving. The role reports to the Global Head of IT & Data with a strong dotted line to the EVP, Global Head of Just-Evotec Biologics

What You'll Do:

  • Define, lead and ensure execution of the multi-year JEB IT & Digital roadmap, aligned with Evotec’s global IT strategy and future IT TOM, from concept through deployment and steady-state operations.

  • Act as the senior, hands-on IT partner to JEB Process and Product Design, Manufacturing, and Quality, translating operational needs into scalable, compliant technology solutions.

  • Remain personally engaged and accountable in critical design, implementation, validation, and go-live activities, especially for GMP-impacting systems.

  • Ensure 24/7 availability, performance, security, and resilience of IT services supporting JEB operations, including triage and problem solving with global leaders  for high-impact incidents.

  • Own IT systems supporting regulated operations, including SCADA, MES/eBR, ERP, historians, laboratory, and development systems.

  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA regulations (including 21 CFR Part 11), and Evotec IT & Data governance, security, and validation standards.

  • Establish and maintain robust CSV and data integrity practices, including validation strategy, risk assessments, and inspection readiness.

  • Provide IT accountability for  regulatory inspections, audits, and remediation activities related to IT systems.

  • Actively shape and execute the integration of JEB IT into Evotec’s future IT Target Operating Model, ensuring continuity of operations and compliance throughout the transition.

  • Define clear service boundaries, ownership models, escalation paths, and accountability between global IT & Data teams and JEB operations.

  • Ensure operational requirements such as time-zone coverage, extended support, and manufacturing uptime are built into global service models.

  • Contribute directly to Evotec’s IT & Data transformation initiatives, including prioritization of platform standardization, consolidation, and process harmonization.

  • Drive digitalization, automation, and data-driven optimization across Process and Product Design and Manufacturing, with measurable business impact.

  • Ensure JEB-specific solutions align with Evotec’s long-term architecture, data strategy, and cybersecurity principles without compromising GMP needs.

  • Own and manage JEB-related IT spend including operating and capital budget inclusive of ROI for new programs/software, ensuring value delivery within Evotec’s financial and governance framework.

  • Select, negotiate, manage, and actively engage  vendors and service partners, ensuring delivery quality, compliance, an

  • d operational performance.

  • Lead, influence, and coordinate JEB-focused IT capabilities delivered through global IT & Data teams and shared services.

  • Drive change management and user adoption, ensuring new systems are operationally embedded, not just implemented.

Who You Are:

  • 10-15+ years of senior IT leadership experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries

  • Experience with GMP or other regulated  environments is required

  • Strong, practical track record in computer system validation (CSV) and FDA regulatory frameworks preferred.

  • Experience operating within or transitioning toward global IT target operating models, including matrixed organizations and familiarity with cyber security requirements.

  • Proven ability to balance enterprise standards with site-level execution and regulatory realities.

  • Execution-focused, accountable, and comfortable operating in ambiguity

  • Technically credible with the ability to go deep when required

  • Pragmatic, business-oriented, and regulatory-aware

  • Collaborative but decisive; able to challenge constructively

  • Leads from the front—not afraid to get directly involved

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $232,300 to $262,600;  Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value.
