SAP Functional Lead & Solution Owner
We are looking for an experienced SAP Functional Lead & Solution Owner to take responsibility for our SAP ERP platform, providing strategic direction, cross-functional coordination, and internal leadership across modules such as Supply Chain, Finance, Sales and Procurement. In this role, you will not only guide internal SAP consultants but also serve as the key point of contact between business stakeholders, external SAP experts, and the wider IT organization. You will own the SAP solution governance and ensure that system changes are aligned with business goals and architectural standards.

As SAP Functional Lead & Solution Owner key responsibilities will include
SAP Governance & Solution Ownership
- Serve as internal solution owner for SAP, overseeing design consistency, data integrity, and cross-functional integration.
- Own the SAP governance process, including change advisory, release planning, and coordination with business process owners.
- Ensure the SAP system supports business process efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate the work of internal SAP functional consultants across modules (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Security).
- Translate business requirements into actionable SAP solutions, working closely with key users and stakeholders.
- Maintain a high-level understanding of end-to-end processes and identify opportunities for process improvement or automation.
Project & Partner Management
- Lead or support delivery of SAP-related projects (e.g., upgrades, integrations, enhancement waves).
- Act as the primary liaison for external SAP consultants, developers, and architects, ensuring alignment with internal standards and objectives.
- Facilitate decision-making on solution design, resourcing, and system road map execution.
Knowledge Management & Leadership
- Guide internal team members and ensure knowledge transfer, documentation, and adherence to best practices.
- Provide internal oversight of areas such as Compliance, master data, testing/validation, and data migration when applicable.
- Support leadership with updates on SAP performance, risks, and improvement plans.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
- Experience in SAP functional roles (cross-module exposure preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership in SAP solution ownership, process alignment, or governance roles.
- Strong understanding of core SAP modules (e.g., MM, FI/CO, SD, EWM), even if not deep in each.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders and translate business needs into SAP actions.
- Experience in life sciences / pharma / regulated industries.
Preferred
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA and modern SAP integration (Fiori, Cloud services).
- Experience with vendor/partner management.
