We’re looking for a passionate and curious Senior Scientist – In vitro Toxicology – Microelectrode Array to join our team. As Senior Scientist – In vitro Toxicology – Microelectrode Array at Evotec, you'll have the freedom to ask the hard questions, think outside the box, and find creative solutions that push us forward. It’s a role where your curiosity will fuel both your personal growth and the success of the team. responsible for conducting routine in vitro Toxicology assays as well as participating in experimental design, performing experiments, troubleshooting, and performing data analysis and interpretation.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform routine in-vitro in vitro Toxicology Assays, with a focus on Microelectrode Array (MEA)
  • Responsible for planning, performing and reporting in vitro Toxicology studies for discovery and development stage compounds.
  • Actively participate in experimental design, perform experiments as well as critically analyze, interpret and report the data to design next steps.
  • Ability to perform high-impact as well as high throughput studies to completion in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple projects to meet the timelines
  • Provides scientific knowledge in establishing new in vitro Tox assays as well as contribute to the continuous improvement of the current in vitro Tox assays
  • Manage junior scientists within the department
  • Assist in data analysis and interpretation
  • Laboratory support including ordering, equipment calibration and validation Working to a high standard and adhering to our Quality System
  • Work closely with the Project Managers to ensure the requirements of our clients are met
  • Assist in running and maintaining robotic systems to support processes.
  • Perform Quality Review of peer data and assist in consolidating assay control and validation criteria
  • Work closely with the Project Managers to ensure the requirements of our clients are met

  • Applies knowledge and expertise to solve complex technical problems 
  • Expertise in electrophysiological assays with Microelectrode Array for cardiac and neuro assays is highly desired.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.

Education and Qualification Requirements

  • PhD in a scientific relevant field in contract research organizations, pharmaceutical industries, government, or academia.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Hands-on industry/academic experience in cell biology and in vitro electrophysiology and a strong record of scientific achievement
  • Experience in drug discovery/development
  • Broad understanding of Toxicology, electrophysiology, and cell biology.
  • Knowledge of bioanalytical sciences including LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, biotransformation and physical organic chemistry
  • Experienced in cell based or biochemical assays.
