Senior Group Business Controller (all genders)
Full-time and permanent
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to Enabling Function leadership by delivering proactive, data-driven insights that support strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational effectiveness.
- Lead the analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) across enabling functions, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance.
- Partner cross-functionally with IT leaders to align financial strategies with functional objectives and broader corporate goals.
- Drive the financial planning process for enabling functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, ensuring plans are both financially sound and operationally achievable.
- Develop and enhance reporting capabilities, transitioning from static reporting to dynamic, forward-looking dashboards (e.g., via Power BI/Tableau).
- Support the global FP&A transformation by contributing to the implementation and continuous improvement of planning tools, systems, and processes. Optimize effective resource allocation by driving meaningful business case analysis for internal approval committee processes
- Provide leadership in internal financial governance, ensuring execution of SOX controls and compliance with reporting standards while enabling agility in financial operations.
- Collaborate with Group Accounting during monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, contributing to high-quality external financial reporting including MD&A and management commentary.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying automation opportunities, standardizing processes, and enhancing the quality and speed of financial insights delivered to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including business functions and internal interfaces, to foster collaboration and alignment across the organization.
Required qualifications:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
- Significant relevant professional working experience in a Finance business partnering role, ideally within life sciences / pharmaceutical sector, and/or within a public/global company, and/or experience with supporting same enabling functions
- Experience of setting up reporting structure
- Experience of working in an international environment
- Experience of leading and managing transformation projects
- Experience in a Group Business Controlling Environment
- Strong IFRS knowledge
- Business fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Further ideal qualifications:
- German fluency
- PCAOB and SOX Experience
- Big 4 experience / Consulting
