Implement and maintain gateway configurations for production and test environments, utilizing Git workflows for version control, collaboration, and deployment
Monitor and validate device signals and data integrity; resolve issues with sensors, equipment, and cabling
Perform PLC maintenance, including diagnostics, configuration updates, and coordination of replacement or repair parts
Maintain and document IP addressing, device inventory and network assignments of all connected devices across multiple subnets
Oversee administration, updates, and performance tuning of Windows and Linux servers for lab automation systems
Participate in a light on-call rotation, with occasional weekend or off-hour response to critical lab automation issues
Provide onsite support to the Seattle site (approximately 10% travel) for infrastructure changes, system issues, and coverage during vacations or absences
Design, develop, and deploy tools to improve scientific workflows, data access, automation, or integration of new laboratory technology
Provide hands-on support and training to scientists on equipment operation, data systems, and automation tools
Document procedures, maintain inventory of critical parts, and support system troubleshooting or upgrades
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field (life sciences experience a plus) with 4+ years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with 10+ years of experience
Experience in industrial automation/control systems with operational responsibility for live SCADA or DCS (Ignition strongly preferred)
Hands-on OPC integration experience (Kepware), with a focus on Modbus and serial communication suites
Competency in PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, etc.), with experience across any major PLC brand
Strong understanding of industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, VLANs, etc.)
Technical literacy with P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, climb ladders, and perform other physical tasks as needed for equipment maintenance and installation
Additional Preferred:

Experience developing custom SCADA solutions and deploying them across multiple sites
Previous experience with device integrations in lab or industrial automation environments
Experience managing Linux-based production systems
Background in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
