The Role:
We’re looking for a passionate and curious, Director of IT Program Management to join our team. What You’ll Do:
Directs and oversees the IT Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure programs and projects within IT and software engineering meet organizational goals and requirements. Responsible to set up a PMO organization across the entire IT and software engineering team - processes, standards, measurements, etc.
Develops and implements PMO processes and policies, directs project management staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.
Develops and implements organizational and structure for documentation regarding IT and software engineering solutions.
Develops and implements process for tracking all IT and software engineering work using a ticketing system, where project requirements, tasks, contributions, and other components of project delivery are tracked. Building on this, also creates dashboards and road maps that are broadly accessible to communicate IT and software engineering activities as well as future plans.
Manage and run the day-to-day operations of the Project Management Office (PMO), including
IT Business and Software Engineering Relationship Management
Governance, Project Intake, Planning, Execution and Successful Delivery
IT Resource Capacity Planning and Allocation
Business Requirements Gathering and Solutions
Ongoing Reporting and Dashboarding
Manage and run a team of Technical Program Managers within IT and software engineering, aligned with the business units. Ensure strong alignment with business needs, focused on deeply understanding business processes and solving problems. Working with external stakeholders such as clients or other departments within the organization to ensure that projects meet their requirements.
Responsible for working with business managing intake, ideation, scoping and governance planning.
Responsible for overall execution and delivery of all IT projects. Manage and run a team of Technical Program Managers, responsible for Project Delivery across the business. Providing guidance and support to Technical Program Managers throughout a project's duration, along with direct management of specific projects. Ensuring that all projects are staffed with the right personnel for the job with the necessary skills, experience, knowledge, and abilities. Developing project management methodology and tools that can be used across multiple projects.
Work to ensure requirements are captured accurately and build processes to handover user stories to the technical teams to build out the solution.
Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans proactively.
Ensure that all projects have the necessary resources (People, Time, Cost) to be successfully completed.
Develop and manage annual budgets for projects and programs (specific to IT) ensuring cost-effectiveness and value delivery.
Who You Are:
Experience setting up and running a PMO for IT and/or software engineering.
At least five years' experience delivering complex IT and/or software engineering projects and programs for the business.
Experience working with IT and software engineering to create solutions to facilitate biomedical or life science research.
Experience with documentation and project management tools such as Confluence, Jira, or other similar applications.
Strong interpersonal communication and relationship building experience as well as communication skills.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $170,000 to $190,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value.
Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision, short-term and long-term disability, company paid basic life insurance, 401k company match, flexible work, generous paid time off and paid holiday, wellness and transportation benefits.
