Research Scientist Translational Molecular Biology

Temporary position (CDD) 18 months

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team and leverage our cutting-edge technologies in molecular biology and biomarker research and development. The successful candidate will thrive in our state-of-the-art research environment and dynamic, multinational, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 4 scientists, overseeing both organizational and scientific activities.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and personnel management for team members.
  • Conduct and oversee molecular biology experiments using various technologies, primarily RT-qPCR and immunoassays (Olink).
  • Contribute to innovation by suggesting new technologies to advance our molecular biology platform.
  • Design and execute multiple projects, including experimental plans, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and cost management.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple teams and projects.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize data, and present findings internally and externally through presentations and reports.
  • Manage relationships with external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Biology, or a related field, with hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques such as RT-qPCR, cloning, transcriptomics, and (single-cell) sequencing (Sanger/Next Generation).
  • Preferred background in (Immuno) Oncology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management and team management within a pharmaceutical or biotech drug discovery company.
  • Expertise in data analysis and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to produce high-quality results within challenging timelines.
  • Strong communication skills (both spoken and written) and the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Collaborative, helpful, and reliable team player.
  • Ability to translate ideas into actionable plans and critically assess scientific plausibility and technical feasibility.
  • Fluent in English and French.
