Scientist I Cell Line Development
Just-Evotec Biologics is looking for a scientist I to join a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team to develop expression systems for low-cost biotherapeutics manufacturing.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of mammalian cell line development, a strong foundation in cell and molecular biology, as well as a good knowledge on cell bank manufacturing practices.
Experience in cell line development, cell culture automation, and expression vector design, is required. The candidate must also have proven experience in cell bank management and cell bank manufacturing as per good manufacturing practices, either through in-house capabilities or through subcontracting.
The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, a desire to learn new scientific concepts, and an ability to work directly with scientific staff across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Establish stable, clonal cell lines for the expression of therapeutic proteins
- Suggest process and sciences improvements to keep cell lines/processes competitive
- Ensure the compliance of the data/results by matching to the regulatory requirements
- Valorize the results by preparing protocols, reports and slides and presenting data and future plans at group and cross functional meetings
- Collaborate with partner groups across the Just organization in Toulouse and US, including Process & Product Design, Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing to ensure an optimal development plan
- Provide technical expertise as functional leader to internal and external teams regarding cell line development, cell bank manufacturing and management
- Being part of client project team
Requirements:
- M.Sc. in Molecular and Cell Biology, Bioengineering/Biotechnology or related fields with 0-5 years of relevant experience
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively over teleconference and web-based meetings
- Deep understanding of cell line generation mechanisms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cell line generation with mammalian cell lines such as CHO, HEK-293 and NS/0
- Experience in cell bank manufacturing
- Experience in Expression plasmid development and gene editing
- Knowledge in design of experiment
- Knowledge of regulatory guidance from the FDA and EMA for development of cell banks
- Knowledge of ICH, USP and Ph. Eur. as it relates to biologics development
- Good written and verbal French communication skills
