The Vice President of Process and Product Design leads a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary organization in all aspects of process and product development for the advancement of low-cost biotherapeutics manufacturing to provide access to all. This position requires strong management and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of biologics development. Experience in developing new technologies, including development and operationalization of continuous manufacturing capabilities, and biosimilar development experience is preferred. A proven track record of technical and leadership skills in this area and experience effectively leading a large group of scientists/engineers is required.
Key responsibilities
Lead a diverse group of scientists/engineers encompassing all aspects of early and late stage large molecule development: cell lines, upstream and downstream processes, analytical methods, and drug product.
Manage staff, capital and operational budgets, and resource planning.
Collaborate across the organization and be a key member and contributor to the Process and Product Design leadership team.
Champion and drive efforts improve technologies and gain efficiencies to continue to reduce the cost of biologics development.
Develop and refine regulatory communication and strategy, both written and face-to-face
With BD, interact with potential clients and support generations of SOWs, as well as promote Just-Evotec externally through conference attendance etc.
Provide support, technical expertise and managerial expertise to current clients and internal process teams.
Requirements
15+ years relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
PhD in a relevant field (e.g. biochemistry, molecular biology, chemical engineering) or extensive relevant experience in industry.
Excellent interpersonal, team and communications skills are a must
Significant experience with regulatory filings including IND/INDa/BLA
Experience with capacity planning tools and allocation of resources and equipment
Knowledge and expertise to solve complex technical problems
Entrepreneurial drive to achieve business objectives
Experience developing and launching biosimilars is preferred
