The Role:

We’re looking for a passionate and curious Logistics Operative to join our team. As a Logistics Operative at Evotec, you'll have the freedom to ask the hard questions, think outside the box, and find creative solutions that push us forward. The Logistics Operative will provide physical and data handling in matters pertaining to shipping and receiving with some purchasing support for the Branford Sample Management Operations.  As part of a team, this role will participate in the development of the logistics operation and provide support to the operations team, as needed.

What You'll Do:

  • Execute all shipping tasks following established SOPs.

  • Author, update, or review SOPs within the Veeva Vault Quality Management System.

  • Use in-house compliance software related to import/export controls.

  • Maintain accurate and timely shipping records and documentation.

  • Prepare and schedule outbound shipments of materials and products.

  • Receive and inspect inbound sample shipments to ensure accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance.

  • Verify shipment contents against client documentation and internal requests.

  • Log samples into internal systems, ensuring correct ID assignment, quantities, storage conditions, and complete chain‑of‑custody documentation.

  • Assign appropriate storage locations and coordinate temperature‑controlled transfers.

  • Create and verify laboratory processing orders in Cenevo Mosaic, ensuring correct assays, priorities, and billing details.

  • Communicate discrepancies promptly and maintain audit‑ready records.

  • Partner with the Project Management Office to ensure proper billing of consumables.

  • Prioritize inventory tasks based on Laboratory Operations and Accounting schedules.

  • Assist with inventory scanning, labeling, facilities work, and safety tasks, including moving, assembling, and loading/unloading materials.

  • Retrieve hazardous chemical samples stored in ambient, refrigerated, or frozen conditions.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision while adhering strictly to laboratory safety standards.

Who You Are: 

  • High school diploma or some college coursework, plus 2+ years of logistics experience.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and schedule shipments.

  • Willingness to obtain required shipping certifications (e.g., DOT/IATA).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with compound management is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience in operations, logistics, or shipping roles.

  • Able to manage a flexible and sometimes demanding workload in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Willingness and ability to operate a forklift (training provided).

  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs, including moving large boxes and using pallet jacks.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $23.00 to $24.50 per hour. This is a non-exempt hourly position. Base salary offered may vary depending on the individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value. Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision, short-term and long-term disability, company paid basic life insurance, 401k company match, flexible work, generous paid time off and paid holiday, wellness and transportation benefits.
